I am a public health graduate with a strong interest in disease prevention and infectious disease. My background in direct patient care as a Certified Nursing Assistant led me to pursue public health, where I could focus on preventing disease rather than only treating its long-term consequences.
Through my training in epidemiology and biostatistics, I developed skills in data analysis, research interpretation, and evidence-based decision-making. I applied these skills in projects such as analyzing measles vaccination awareness among Utah residents and conducting a needs assessment on Utah's tribal populations.
During my internship with the Alzheimer’s Association, I strengthened my ability to communicate health information in a community setting by adapting my approach to each individual’s experience and needs.
I am particularly interested in applied public health work that allows me to use these skills in real-world settings, supporting programs, contributing to health policy decisions, and working directly with communities to improve health outcomes.
